The decree obliged all Jews to surrender all valuables such as gold, silver, platinum, diamonds, furs, jewellery, silverware etc. They were permitted to keep only their wedding bands and a few pieces of silver cutlery per person. This was another step toward confiscating all Jewish property and forbidding them from having any luxury items. During the war years, the police would search Jewish homes for forbidden possessions.
